☼ Solar Powered RC Car with Solar Tracking

Our solar powered RC car is remote controlled from a 2.4 GHz controller, featuring solar tracking to maximize input power, an optional rechargeable battery, live telemetry from the car to the controller, and input power monitoring.


☼ MPPT for Battery Tracking

Utilized MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology to track the position of the sun and to maximize the energy delivery from the solar panel to charge the battery. This allows for efficiency and optimal power, even when light conditions vary.


☼ Solar Powered Speakers

The sun meets sound in this project, as solar energy powers our audio system and allows it to play music from a processor. A mini battery functions as support, while the solar array and charge controller provide the entire system with power, eliminating the need to constantly replace the battery.


☼ Solar Plane

Featured on our home page, we designed and created a radio-controlled airplane using a solar power array to provide power to the system.


☼ KansaSolaRace Car

Created a competition between Kansas State and Pittsburg State to allow engineering students to work with solar cars, without the excess budgets typical of regular races.

☼ Madagascar Solar Project:


Worked remotely with a middle school in Ampasimbe, Madagascar to design and implement a system to provide solar power to students so they would be able to use laptops in the classroom.
